First off, I HAVE to say a huge thank you … thank you from the bottom of my heart to EVERY SINLGE ONE of you that have relentlessly continued to push me along this journey, slapping me in the face when I even mentioned failure, building up my confidence as I struggled through set-backs and injury and slower than expected progression… among many other facts of life.
I know for a fact that I could have never done this alone. If it wasn’t for the belief that you ALL had in me – the pure and unfiltered belief in my talent and potential, and KNOWING that I will achieve it, none of this would be possible.
As you all know by now, I did not jump well at the Olympic Trials.
A bad combination of a badly timed injury and fate sealed that for me. However, there is always a silver lining, and no matter what I have never been a quitter. The Deadline for achieving the standard is July 8th, and I’ve been confirmed for a meet on the 7th in Germany.
I’m currently in Brussels, preparing to travel to Germany and compete in what will be my first european meet (with prize money and all!!) and trying to achieve the standard for one last shot at my dream.
Regardless of the result, I will then continue to enjoy the european experience, going to every meet I can get into, and LIVING THE DREAM that I have been building on. I will continue to train, continue to improve, and continue to drive towards my goal, and believe it or not…. THIS JOURNEY DOES NOT END IN 2012.
There are a lot of new and exciting things in store, and I can’t wait to share it with the ppl that have been supporting me from the start… YOU.
Gonna get some rest now… it’s 3:30am here and I havent slept since Louisiana.
